Job summary We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Pharmacist - Education & Training (Band 8a) to play a leading role in developing a skilled, confident and sustainable pharmacy workforce at Wye Valley NHS Trust. Working closely with the Lead Pharmacist - Workforce Development, you will lead and coordinate key education programmes, including Foundation Year Pharmacist training and postgraduate development, establish robust competency and governance frameworks, and work with multidisciplinary teams, universities and regional partners to improve learning across the organisation. Alongside your education leadership responsibilities, you will maintain advanced clinical practice and contribute to ward, dispensary, on-call, weekend and Bank Holiday commitments. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for delivery of the pharmacy education, training and workforce agenda with a particular focus on leading and coordinating the Foundation Year Pharmacist programme and post-graduate pharmacy education.
The post holder will support the clinical service utilising their specialist knowledge and work collaboratively with teams internally and externally to the Trust to support education and training in line to delivering the Trust and Pharmacy objectives and strategies.

To support and deputise for the Lead Pharmacist - Workforce Development in the delivery of the pharmacy education, training and workforce development agenda To contribute to the ongoing development of the pharmacy workforce education and training strategy in line with Trust, ICS and national priorities and lead on certain aspects of the strategy Interpret regulatory, professional and educational standards and determine their application within the local workforce development programmes To co-ordinate and deliver pharmacy education and training programmes across the organisation, be the pharmacy lead for multi-professional education across the Trust

Education & Qualifications Essential
MPharm & registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist Post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience to a similar level Independent Prescribing Qualification or prepared to be working towards this within 12 months of starting the role Evidence of CPD and study beyond registration in line with requirements for revalidation and demonstrating commitment to lifelong learning
Desirable
Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain Post Graduate qualifications relating to Training & Education or be willing to work towards this
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Essential
Demonstrate a clear understanding of best practice and legal requirements relating to medicines storage, prescribing and administration Highly effective communication to all levels of staff using a variety of methods (written, verbal, presentation) with a wide range of people across the organisation. Ability to react to and manage the changing situation within the department on a daily basis and manage staff accordingly.
Experience Essential
Significant post registration experience in a hospital/primary care pharmacy setting with a proportion of time in a clinical role Experience in motivating teams Proven experience of creating and delivering training packages to multidisciplinary groups Experience of quality improvement or audit within an organisation to improve service delivery
