Main duties of the job
Your Objectives
As a dispenser at TrustMed Pharmacy, your primary objective will be to ensure the timely and accurate dispensing of medications for our outpatient population. Working collaboratively with our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining stock control, replenishing supplies, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary. By fulfilling these objectives, you will contribute to our overarching goal of providing efficient, accurate, and safe patient care.

Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a dispenser will include:
Dispensing and issuing medications, including controlled drugs and oral cytotoxic agents, for outpatient prescriptions
Maintaining accurate stock control of medications and ensuring timely replenishment of sundries
Participating in the organisation of the dispensary to uphold cleanliness and compliance standards
Collaborating with the pharmacy team to facilitate efficient workflow and contribute to the overall success of TrustMed Pharmacy
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification recognised by GPhC. Recognised Medicines Counter Assistant qualification
Desirable
MPharm student
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Experience of having worked in a community pharmacy. Understanding of near misses and dispensing incidents.
Desirable
Experience of working in outpatient pharmacy. Experience of counselling patients on their medicines. Understanding of pharmacy services. Experience in stock management.
Skills and Abilities Essential
Strong communication skills Ability to work in a team. Applies instructions. Ability to work under pressure and at an appropriately fast pace. IT literate. Excellent patient and customer service skills. Responsive to feedback with willingness to reflect and make changes Attention to detail. Works with diligence and a high degree of accuracy.
