Job summary
We are looking for a pro-active, dedicated and flexible Healthcare Assistant, to support the practice nursing and administrative teams in the delivery of clinical and administrative services, working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population within our sites.
The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education whilst also supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis.

Provides clinical support to the nursing and multidisciplinary team, delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care. Responsibilities include venepuncture, ECGs, routine observations, home and care home visits, specimen management, health promotion, accurate record keeping and maintaining safe clinical environments. Participates in audits, training and service improvement activities while adhering to IPC, clinical governance and organisational procedures.
Essential: Level 3/4 healthcare qualification (or working towards), healthcare experience, venepuncture and observation skills, strong communication and IT skills, Enhanced DBS, Occupational Health clearance and full driving licence.
Desirable: Primary Care experience, phlebotomy qualification, SystmOne knowledge.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Level 3/4 Healthcare qualification (or working towards). Experience working in a healthcare setting. Experience working with the public. Competent in venepuncture. Able to undertake and record clinical observations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good IT skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional, empathetic and patient-focused approach. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Enhanced DBS clearance.
Desirable
Primary Care/General Practice experience. Phlebotomy qualification. Experience using SystmOne. Knowledge of chaperone procedures. Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
