Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Surgery Care Group

As a key member of the specialty triumvirate team you are jointly responsible with the Clinical Lead and Matron for the provision of safe, effective and efficient services within your area of responsibility reporting to the General Manager.

The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) is accountable to the relevant General Manager, to support the effective and efficient operational management of the Directorate, ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care services and effective use of the resources available.

This will include working closely with the clinical team to manage the day-to-day operational issues in the specialties. This may also include the effective co-ordination and, where appropriate, management of budgets (including income) and agreed performance objectives and contracts as well as working closely with Clinical Leads and the Matron on business planning and the development and continuous improvement of patient care processes.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

To manage the operational aspects of the specialties encompassing the management of all resources and the monitoring and achievement of agreed performance objectives within the context of National and Trust frameworks. In conjunction with Clinical Leads and Matrons to consider, plan and implement change to ensure continuous service and efficiency improvements to enhance the patient care services provided by the Directorate. Line Management of other members of the Directorate management support team as required. You will be required to work Trustwide and therefore have access to a vehicle and be able to travel for 2 days a week to acute/CDC sites.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Qualifications Essential

First degree (BSc or BA) or equivalent experience Evidence of CPD and commitment to future career development

Previous Experience Essential

Experience within the Healthcare sector at senior management level Experience of successfully operating against quality standards eg CQC Experience of developing and managing high performing teams Proven track record of successful financial management Proven track record of monitoring and delivering to healthcare targets Experience of successfully delivering major service change projects and programmes within a healthcare setting Performance management skills and experience Experience of producing reports, data analysis and performance information Experience of developing and implementing service plans, standard operating procedures, and business cases

Desirable

Experience of reporting on complex performance management information Experience of working within theatres/ surgical services

Knowledge, skills, aptitudes Essential
