Hampshire and IOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Podiatry Service sits within Community Specialist Services Division as part of the Long Term Conditions Subdivision. We operate from key hub sites and other community settings including patients' homes. We cover a large geography of three localities, Mid and North (Andover, Basingstoke, Winchester, Eastleigh, Alton), West (Southampton, West Hampshire) and East (Portsmouth, East Hampshire). Successful candidates will be based at one of these localities however, you may be required to travel across localities at times.

Podiatry has close links with secondary care with opportunities to work within University Hospital of Southampton as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job Support the Clinical/Operational Leads in implementing strategy changes to the service in accordance with HCP/Trust Policy and establish, deliver and evaluate care plans within a multi-disciplinary team including other Healthcare ProfessionalsAssist in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocolsMaintain a clinical caseload and act as a source of specialist advice to colleagues, other healthcare professionalsRepresent Podiatry at appropriate groups/committees in the TrustWorking with patients with diabetes, rheumatoid, vascular foot disease or complex pain commonly at the acute stage on a daily basis to maximise improvement through high levels of technical skill and behaviour change management.Working with teams and individuals to influence quality of care provided across the 'at risk foot' and MSK pathwayWork alongside and receive referral from other health professionals to agree care plans to prevent/manage podiatric conditionsDevelop and maintain good working relationships and liaise closely with GP's, colleagues and other health professionals regarding patient careClinical supervisor with regard to student placementSupport and supervise junior staff and provide specialist team training for Healthcare professionalsUndertake appraisals, CPD, clinical rotation, supervision, mentoring and peer review, Trust colleagues and external members.Plan and deliver Health Education and training to the patient, their carers and other staff as required

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

BSc Podiatry/Equivalent Full HCPC Registration POM Certificate An MSC or evidence of study at master's level / evidence of experience and managing an advanced case load IRMER Certificate Driving Licence with own car
