Community CAMHS provides assessment, formulation and evidence-based treatment for children and young people (CYP) up to the age of 18 who present with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, including complex and co-occurring needs.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be one of five specialist clinical leaders within the service, providing day-to-day leadership, clinical oversight and professional support to a multidisciplinary team of practitioners. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, safe and effective care, supporting staff to deliver comprehensive assessments, care planning and therapeutic interventions that achieve meaningful outcomes for CYP and their families.
You will hold a complex clinical caseload and be responsible for overseeing assessment, treatment and discharge planning, ensuring care is delivered in line with best practice, service standards and governance requirements. Working collaboratively with colleagues across health, social care, education and the wider system, you will contribute to service development, pathway improvement and the ongoing transformation of CAMHS provision.

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Senior Clinical Nurse Manager , some of your responsibilities will include:
Providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to a team of practitioners. Managing a complex caseload of children and young people with moderate to severe mental health presentations. Undertaking and overseeing comprehensive mental health assessments, formulation and risk management. Leading on care planning, treatment delivery and discharge processes. Ensuring high standards of clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance. Supporting service development, transformation initiatives and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver integrated, person-centred care.

Qualifications Essential
Current RMN / RN (Mental Health), Social Work or Occupational Therapy registration
Desirable
Additional vocational training courses (Solution focused, CBT, Motivational interviewing)
Experience Essential
Post registration experience including substantial Band 6 in a CAMHS Community setting Recruitment / Selection and general HR management Post registration experience equivalent to Masters level
