As a Fire Health & Safety Officer at Sodexo, you'll play a vital role in keeping colleagues, patients, visitors and healthcare environments safe. Working within a busy NHS healthcare setting, you'll provide specialist fire safety advice, deliver essential training, and help ensure compliance with current fire safety legislation and healthcare standards.

Main duties of the job What you'll do
Provide specialist fire safety advice and guidance across the hospital estate Conduct fire risk assessments and develop associated action plans Deliver engaging fire safety and emergency evacuation training to colleagues Support fire safety audits, inspections and assurance activities Investigate fire-related incidents, unwanted alarm activations and near misses Produce fire safety reports and maintain accurate records Liaise with external stakeholders, including the Fire and Rescue Service Support managers in meeting their fire safety responsibilities and regulatory obligations

You'll have:
A recognised fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, CFPA qualification, or equivalent experience Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor qualification Sound knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and HTM 05 guidance PAS 79 knowledge and/or qualification (recognised methodology for fire risk assessments) Experience carrying out fire risk assessments and implementing corrective actions Strong communication and training delivery skills Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities The confidence to influence stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications Essential
Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor PAS 79 FPA/FRA fundamental principles. Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience relating to fire safety Specialist knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation, HTMs underpinned by both theoretical knowledge and relevant working experience Hold a recognized relevant technical qualification, such CFPA Europe Advanced Diploma in Fire Prevention, NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate equivalent work experience Experience of the practical application of fire safety in a range of environments Knowledge of procedures in relation to providing a safe working environment Working with minimal supervision and using own initiative Excellent time management and the ability to be proactive Interpersonal skills, including ability to interact at a sensitive level Problem solving and decision making. Team player Self-motivated and conscientious Experience of dealing with people, to maintain a high level of customer care Highly developed and effective negotiating and influencing skills and ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships Highly developed and effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to assimilate and analyse complex problems, then identify and present necessary actions and make recommendations to ensure actions are implemented. . Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft office applications Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, prioritise and managed a varied and unpredictable work pattern
