Job summary
Southern Hospice Group (St Barnabas House and Martlets Hospice) providespecialist palliative care to adults in the our local area, through a range of services, including in-patient care and communityservices. This is an exciting time to join our hospice group, as we develop our Patient & Family Support Team.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced, qualified counsellor who is registered with the BACP. As part of our team you will support our patients and their loved ones whilst in our care, and during bereavement. The role requires adaptable and responsive individuals, with a passion for specialist palliative care. You will have experience of working both individually and in a group setting. You will also be required to contribute to the development of services provided by an established and vibrant multi-professional team. You will be a consummate professional who is able to practice with confidence and autonomy, as part of the Patient & Family Support Team and wider hospice multi-disciplinary group. You will provide specialist 1:1 interventions for our patients, and their families/carers, both pre and post bereavement.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Diploma or advanced Diploma in Counselling qualified at Level 4 and above Demonstrable post qualification experience Registered with BACP, UKCP, NCS or similar professional body and working toward accreditation Evidence of Continual Professional Development and education
Experience Essential
Effective IT and computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic patient records Demonstrable experience of working with individuals experiencing loss and bereavement. Experience of working effectively with groups in a therapeutic setting. Experience of working effectively with clients virtually, face-to-face and over the telephone.
