Shifts: Monday to Sunday, early, late and long day shifts. Participation in the on call and standby rota, including overnight stay requirements. Typically one in four Saturdays, with occasional Sunday overtime available.

Were looking for a Theatre Practitioner Anaesthetics to join our Theatre team at The Portland Hospital. As the only private hospital in the UK dedicated entirely to the healthcare of women and children, The Portland Hospital offers a highly specialised environment where colleagues can develop expertise across paediatric, maternity and women's health services.

With more than 46 paediatric beds, a dedicated Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, neonatal intensive care services and over 175 paediatric consultants, you will be part of a hospital that cares for more than 40,000 children each year while also supporting one of the UKs leading private maternity services. Main duties of the job

As a Theatre Practitioner Anaesthetics in our Theatre Department, youll work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting a broad range of surgical specialities, including paediatric surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics and general surgery. Our five fully integrated theatres are equipped with advanced technology, creating an environment where you can continue to build your clinical expertise while delivering exceptional patient care.

This role offers the opportunity to further develop your anaesthetic skills within paediatrics, supported by experienced colleagues who are passionate about learning and professional growth. You will play a vital role throughout the perioperative pathway, ensuring every patient receives safe, compassionate and personalised care. With a varied shift pattern and participation in the on call and standby rota, you will gain exposure to a diverse caseload while helping to provide responsive support when patients need it most.

Prepare, check and maintain anaesthetic equipment to ensure safe and effective use Support anaesthetists during a wide range of paediatric, maternity and general surgical procedures Monitor patients throughout anaesthesia, maintaining the highest standards of safety and care Deliver compassionate care throughout the perioperative journey, ensuring patient comfort and wellbeing Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team across multiple specialities to support excellent clinical outcomes

Qualifications Essential

NMC or HCPC Registered

Experience Essential

- Extensive post registration experience within anaesthetic theatres - Recognised anaesthetics qualification or anaesthetic course - Experience preparing and managing anaesthetic rooms and equipment safely and effectively - Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care within a multidisciplinary theatre environment
