Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment from concept through production. This role utilizes 3D CAD software, engineering analysis tools, and hands-on testing to create reliable and cost-effective solutions for industrial applications. The engineer will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and production requirements. Responsibilities
• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment from initial concept through production. • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and documentation using CAD software. • Develop and execute functionality, performance, and reliability testing for new and existing products. • Design test fixtures, tooling, and equipment required to validate product performance. • Develop testing procedures and methodologies to verify component and system functionality. • Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, and performance-related issues and implement corrective actions. • Analyze data from production, field installations, testing, and quality processes to identify root causes and drive improvements. • Apply structured problem-solving techniques to improve reliability, manufacturability, and overall product performance. • Partner with manufacturing teams to support production processes and design-for-manufacturing initiatives. • Collaborate with suppliers on component specifications, development, and technical requirements. • Support fabrication, assembly, and testing activities throughout the product lifecycle. • Work with quality teams to ensure components and assemblies meet established requirements and specifications. • Develop and maintain documentation including drawings, bills of materials, test reports, and engineering change records. • Provide technical support for installations, field troubleshooting, and customer applications as needed. • Communicate technical information effectively to internal teams, customers, suppliers, and project stakeholders. • Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. • Manage engineering projects to ensure scope, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. • 3+ years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience. • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). • Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation. • Knowledge of mechanical systems, machine design principles, and manufacturing processes. • Experience with sheet metal, machined components, fabricated assemblies, or welded structures. • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience developing and maintaining bills of materials and engineering records. • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing industrial equipment, machinery, automation systems, or custom-engineered products. • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software. • Experience with fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly practices. • Knowledge of power transmission components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and drives. • Experience supporting product testing, validation, and continuous improvement efforts. • Project management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. • Hands-on troubleshooting and field support experience. Work Environment This position combines office-based engineering and design work with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor. Engineers work closely with production, quality, and operations teams to support the development, testing, fabrication, and improvement of products and equipment. Occasional travel may be required to support customer installations, field service activities, project meetings, or equipment evaluations.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Fresno, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
