The Role
We are looking for an experienced IT and AV support professional to lead the technical teams that support learning, teaching and University life across our campuses.
This operational leadership role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact. You will oversee technical support services, ensuring that devices, AV systems and teaching spaces are reliable, effective and responsive to the needs of staff and students.
Working closely with the Head of Digital Support Services, you will set priorities, coordinate workloads and develop your team to deliver consistent, high-quality support across multiple locations. You will oversee complex incident escalations, coordinate upgrades and deployments, and use service data and feedback to identify recurring issues and drive practical service improvements.
You will build effective relationships with academic and professional services colleagues, digital teams and external suppliers. You will also oversee rotas and out-of-hours support arrangements to ensure service requirements are met.
Joining our Digital & Information Services directorate, you will contribute to the continued development of Digital Service Delivery, strengthening collaboration across campuses and supporting learning, teaching, research and professional services.
What You Will Bring
You will have substantial experience in IT, AV or digital support, including managing complex technical support services within a large organisation. You will have strong working knowledge of PC hardware, software, AV systems and network environments.
You will have experience managing or supervising technical teams, coordinating workloads and maintaining service performance across multiple locations. Strong leadership, decision-making, communication and customer service skills are essential, together with experience of structured service management processes and tools.
Relevant IT, AV or service management qualifications, knowledge of ITIL and enterprise service management platforms, and Welsh language skills would be advantageous.
