The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient, and dynamic professional to take up the role of Regional Security Adviser for Latin America. This role is responsible for developing, evaluating and monitoring NRC’s regional security risk management approach in accordance with global standards, with an overall objective to enable the delivery of a safe and principled humanitarian response.The Regional HAS Adviser plays a fundamental role in security risk management, in capacity building of HAS colleagues and country management, as well as in operationalizing Duty of Care and humanitarian access strategies across the region. NRC’s Humanitarian Access and Safety (HAS) function’s purpose is to enable principled humanitarian response in a safe manner, for the communities and partners we work with and our staff. The Regional Humanitarian Access and Safety Adviser serves as the lead technical resource on safety and security, access, and crisis management within the region. This function is line managed by the Regional Head of Operations Support and managed in a technical line by the Global HAS Director. This role acts as the technical supervisor for Country HAS Managers or equivalent within the region and serves as a core member of the regional management team and crisis management team.
