Are you interested in supporting the use of health system data to improve decision making for non-communicable diseases and mental health? The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is seeking a motivated and independent postdoctoral fellow for a two-year position in CONNECT4HEALTH, a Horizon Europe-funded implementation research project. CONNECT4HEALTH aims to support health systems in Indonesia, Uganda, Nepal and Ethiopia by strengthening prevention and management of non-communicable diseases and mental health conditions. The project will integrate digital health platforms with community-based approaches to screening, referral, follow-up and continuity of care. The project examines how contextually adapted approaches can be implemented, used and sustained within routine health services. NIPH is work package lead on data-use strategies and evidence-informed decision making. NIPH also contributes to the project’s work on national sustainability and scale-up roadmaps. The work is carried out in collaboration with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and with research and implementation partners in the four countries. The postdoctoral fellow will be based in the Global Health Cluster at the Division of Health Services at NIPH. Under the guidance and supervision of the responsible senior researcher, the fellow will support the planning, coordinating and conducting NIPH's research within CONNECT4HEALTH. The position combines independent scientific research with coordination across institutions and countries. About the positionThe fellow will have opportunities to develop and lead high-quality research on implementation science and health systems within an established international consortium. Key resposisbilities include developing research questions and protocols, feasible research plans, appropriate methods and relevant scientific and policy outputs. The fellow will collaborate with researchers, policymakers, health system managers and implementation teams from diverse disciplinary, institutional, national and cultural settings. The role requires strong collaboration skills to build equitable working relationships, facilitate joint decisions and maintain progress in dialogue with partners, recognising and building on their expertise, priorities and leadership. Some international travel should be expected. The working language in the Global Health Cluster is English and Norwegian. The position is in Oslo, Norway and requires in-person presence and participation in the research environment at NIPH.
