Descripción del puesto / Funciones <p>As a <strong>Senior Cisco SD-WAN & Network Specialist</strong> within our Global WAN Services team, you will be responsible for connecting corporate entities, regional offices, and data centers across the globe—spanning from Hong Kong to Colombia.</p><p>You will join an agile, multicultural team of 8 engineers distributed internationally across Malaysia, Europe, and Mexico. Operating within a managed service framework, you will act as a high-level technical subject matter expert for both complex <strong>Build</strong> projects (integrations, office rollouts, data center setups) and <strong>Tier-3 Run</strong> operations. You will hold administrative/write access across critical fabrics to perform deep-dive troubleshooting and execute advanced configuration changes.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h4>1. Build & Project Execution</h4><ul><li><p><strong>Global Entity & Site Onboarding:</strong> Drive end-to-end WAN build activities for new site turn-ups, corporate acquisitions, office expansions, and data center integrations across international regions.</p></li><li><p><strong>Complex Interconnectivity:</strong> Collaborate closely with local LAN and Data Center engineering teams to design and implement secure network segmentation, VRF mapping, and multi-cloud interconnectivity.</p></li><li><p><strong>Traffic Engineering & Routing:</strong> Design and deploy robust dynamic routing topologies over diverse WAN transports to ensure optimal path selection, application delivery, and high availability.</p></li></ul><h4>2. Advanced Run & L3 Escalation</h4><ul><li><p><strong>Deep-Dive Troubleshooting:</strong> Serve as the senior escalation point for complex network incidents, performance bottlenecks, routing loops, or failover issues that exceed L1/L2 Managed Service Provider (MSP) capabilities.</p></li><li><p><strong>Direct Fabric Administration:</strong> Utilize direct write/admin access in regional fabrics to validate, test, and execute critical network changes when required.</p></li><li><p><strong>Capacity & Service Optimization:</strong> Oversee WAN bandwidth evolutions, policy fine-tuning, and continuous infrastructure performance enhancements.</p></li></ul><h4>3. Vendor Governance & Autonomous Ownership</h4><ul><li><p><strong>Autonomous Delivery:</strong> Independently manage assigned projects and client requests from initial requirement gathering through to execution, proactively mitigating risks and escalating to leadership only when blocked.</p></li><li><p><strong>Stakeholder & MSP Engagement:</strong> Act as a technical liaison between internal business units, cross-functional IT teams, and external Managed Service Providers.</p></li></ul> Requisitos mínimos <ul><li><p><strong>Experience Level:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Senior Tier:</strong> 6+ years of experience in enterprise IT network engineering.</p></li><li><p><em>Confirmed Tier:</em> ~5 years of experience with demonstrated advanced technical expertise.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) Expertise:</strong> Mandatory hands-on experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco Viptela fabrics (vManage, vSmart, vBond, edge devices).</p><ul><li><p><em>Note:</em> Candidates whose SD-WAN background is strictly limited to Cisco Meraki or basic cloud SD-WAN will <strong>not</strong> be considered due to the complexity of our architecture.</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Advanced Routing Protocols:</strong> Expert-level mastery of <strong>BGP</strong> and <strong>OSPF</strong>, multi-VRF segmentation, dynamic routing, and complex overlay/underlay architectures.</p></li><li><p><strong>Cross-Domain Knowledge:</strong> Strong understanding of LAN topologies, Data Center interconnects, and enterprise security segmentation.</p></li></ul> Requisitos valorables <ul><li><p><strong>High Autonomy:</strong> Ability to operate independently in a globally distributed team without micro-management.</p></li><li><p><strong>Strong Communication:</strong> Professional fluency in English (spoken and written) to interact effectively with global peers, internal business partners, and third-party vendors.</p></li><li><p><strong>Pragmatic Problem-Solving:</strong> Sound judgment on when to resolve complex issues through peer collaboration versus escalating to management.</p></li></ul> Idiomas English is a must Ubicación Spain (Madrid or Barcelona Hub - Hybrid)
