About this role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will join our Loughborough team to support our activities within the clean energy and advanced technology sector.

You will play a key role in the development of electrical distribution and wiring solutions for innovative products. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and documentation of wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems, ensuring reliable and efficient electrical architecture throughout the product lifecycle.

Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses and Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS)Create and maintain electrical schematics using SolidWorks ElectricalProduce and manage 3D electrical routing and harness modelsSupport the integration of electrical systems into product assembliesGenerate and maintain electrical design documentation, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BoMs)Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product integrationSupport prototype build, testing, and validation activitiesImplement design changes and maintain accurate configuration control throughout the product lifecycle Required Skills:

Experience designing wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systemsProficiency with SolidWorks ElectricalExperience creating electrical schematics and wiring documentationUnderstanding of 3D routing and harness modelling principlesKnowledge of electrical integration and system packaging considerationsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teamsGood communication and problem-solving skillsRequired Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.2–4 years of experience in electrical design, EDS, or harness engineeringExperience supporting product development within an engineering environmentDesirable Skills:

Experience with electrical system integration and validation activitiesKnowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes for wiring harnessesFamiliarity with CAD-based electrical routing toolsExperience within clean energy, automotive, aerospace, or advanced technology sectorsUnderstanding of product lifecycle management and engineering change control processes Why join us?
