About this role
The FX Team execute foreign exchange transactions across fixed income and equity portfolios globally, in support of portfolio management objectives. The role focuses on delivering best execution and providing market insight through disciplined trading, robust analytics, and collaboration with investment teams and technology partners.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiate and execute FX trades for the assigned portfolios. Assist and back up other traders as needed. • Handle negotiated trades and high-risk situations, be viewed as price setter for trading. • Analyze and contribute ideas to design performance attribution reports to gain insight into different trading strategies and approaches. • Identifies potential improvements to workflow or process to improve portfolio management results. Offers opinions and recommendations to improve workflow efficiency and/or to reduce operational risk. • Collaborate with technology and product teams to design and implement new tools, platforms, and workflows to improve operational resilience and execution quality. • Independently initiate investment research and generate trade ideas. Contribute views and ideas to macro and multi asset fund portfolio managers. When assigned by desk head, takes ownership of specific FX strategies to implement in assigned portfolios. • Evaluate, acquire, and/or develop models with our quantitative research team for analyzing FX investment strategies. • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with security dealers, and leverage relationships to improve operational efficiency and trading execution. • Develops, designs, and delivers comprehensive and effective presentations and investment reviews for internal and external clients. • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of eight years of demonstrated investment experience, with relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: foreign exchange trading, fixed income trading, fixed income portfolio management, macro strategy, quantitative modeling, or investment risk management. • Demonstrated knowledge of foreign exchange markets, FX instruments, currency risk, and trade execution. • Experience executing FX transactions using institutional trading platforms such as FX Connect, FXall, Bloomberg FXGO, 360T, or comparable platforms. • Experience with multiple FX execution methods, including electronic trading and voice execution. • Strong understanding of currency risk, global interest rates, and credit risk management. • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial markets, trading strategies, execution outcomes, and investment risks. • Proven experience enhancing trading practices, processes, or workflows and remaining current on developments in FX markets and trading practices. • Strong quantitative and mathematical skills, including the ability to interpret trading and investment analytics. • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate investment and market concepts effectively to investment professionals and other stakeholders. • Ability to work collaboratively with portfolio management, trading, quantitative research, technology, and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Direct institutional FX trading experience across global portfolios. • Experience supporting or managing fixed income portfolios or developing macro or currency investment strategies. • Experience generating FX trade ideas or independently owning and implementing currency strategies. • Experience with transaction cost analysis, performance attribution, execution analytics, or trading performance measurement. • Experience developing, evaluating, or applying quantitative models to FX markets or investment strategies. • Experience using Python or another programming language for investment research, quantitative analysis, trading analytics, or workflow automation. • Experience partnering with technology teams on the development or implementation of electronic trading tools, trading platforms, automation, or investment workflows. • Established knowledge of FX market structure, liquidity providers, broker-dealers, and evolving electronic trading practices.
