The primary focus is press releases and media outreach, with additional writing for EEV's blog, newsletter, and social media channels. This position is ideal for a student who enjoys writing and wants to build a professional portfolio in communications, journalism, or public relations.
Responsibilities
• Write and edit press releases, media advisories, and pitches announcing EEV programs, initiatives, and events • Write blog posts, newsletter articles, and social media copy that reflect EEV's voice and brand standards· • Gather information from EEV program teams to develop story ideas and announcements· • Build and maintain media contact lists, distribute releases, and follow up with journalists and editors· • Coordinate media interview requests for EEV leadership and subject matter experts· • Track media coverage and content performance· • Support additional communications projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Current UT Austin student • Strong writing and editing skills Preferred Qualifications
• Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field • Experience writing for a student publication, blog, newsletter, or organizational social media account • Familiarity with AP style • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines • Strong attention to detail
Salary Range $15.00 per hour
Working Conditions
• Work to be performed in typical office environment • 15-19 hours per week
