Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, is seeking a Journeyman Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD. The Journeyman Software Developer will support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $110k-$125k annually (depending upon experience)
Work Location: Onsite at Patuxent River, MD.
Essential Functions
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practicesWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C++ and other object-oriented languagesParticipate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectivesDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutionsSupport system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionalityContribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testingAssist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activitiesRequirements
Required:
Experience developing in C++.Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar).Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications.
Desired:
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Jenkins.Knowledge of JMPS/NOMS.Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript.Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred).Experience with web development frameworks (React, Flask, Spring Boot).
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Engineering field (required) and 3-10 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development required.
Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
