Join Bath Spa University's Estates team and play a vital role in maintaining and improving the electrical infrastructure across our diverse academic and residential estate. This hands-on role offers a varied workload, from fault finding and testing to installations and emergency response, helping ensure a safe and reliable environment for students and staff. (This is a full time, Grade 6 role, plus £2k per annum High Voltage Appointed Person Responsibility Allowance payable where appropriately qualified. Full training will be provided to obtain the necessary qualification if required). Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across University properties. Undertake electrical testing and inspection in accordance with BS7671 requirements. Maintain and test emergency lighting, fire alarm and generator systems. Diagnose and repair electrical faults, control systems, motors, pumps and HVAC-related equipment. Carry out electrical installations, modifications and upgrades. Support the operation and maintenance of the University's electrical distribution infrastructure. Assist with Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). Supervise and coordinate specialist contractors working on University sites. Support colleagues by sharing technical knowledge and best practice. Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimise disruption. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health and safety requirements and safe systems of work. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with University stakeholders regarding maintenance activities.
