B SUMMARY The duties of the Process Technician involve monitoring and controlling of processes in the Brewhouse to ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently and that quality standards are attained. In the Brewhouse, there are specific responsibility of starting up and carrying the Brew through to completion. PRINCIPAL DUTIES Ensure that all materials are available in the proportion to be used before commencing a Brew. Issue daily requisitions to the Stores Department for all materials to be used. Record raw material information, such as lot and or batch #, and expiration date are recorded on the brew sheet for each brew. Ensure that the correct quantity of malt is milled for the product to be brewed. Monitor the computer-aided process in the Brewhouse and log the relevant data onto the prescribed logs. Do all relevant analytical checks in a timely fashion and appropriately log the results. Collect the relevant samples according to the sampling schedule. Ensure that the pertinent Cold Stores vessels are adequately prepared to accept the product from the Brewhouse. Ensure that all product lines are cleaned and sterilized before use. Clean and sterilize the yeast plant and connecting lines before and after use. Clean the lines, vessels and other areas in the Brewhouse as stipulated in the Cleaning and Sanitization Schedule. Report all out-of-specification results immediately to your immediate Supervisor or Brewer. Performs any other related duties required by the job function. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Diploma in Science Technician/Process Plant Operator. Associate degree in sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution would be an asset. At least one (1) years’ experience in Process Plant Operations/Quality Control in a brewing or food plant. Equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any other relevant software. Knowledge of basic Health and Safety principles. Effective communication and interpersonal skills Supervisory skills. Strong teamwork skills.
