Logistics at full potential As an HR Advisor , you are the on-site HR point of contact for our employees and management teams across Mechelen and Antwerp. You will work closely with operations to deliver consistent people processes, provide practical advice and coaching, and support a diverse blue-collar workforce. Based primarily in Mechelen, you will maintain regular contact with the smaller Antwerp operation and work alongside the HR Administrator, HR Business Partner and wider HR Team Belgium. You will report to our HR Manager . What does your day look like as an HR Advisor ? Act as the on-site HR partner for Mechelen and maintain regular, approximately bi-weekly contact with the Antwerp site Advise, coach and support managers and team leaders on employee relations, performance, recruitment, onboarding, training, attendance and the consistent application of HR policies and Belgian employment legislation Drive short-term absenteeism follow-up, including return-to-work meetings, accurate documentation, manager accountability and appropriate contact during longer absences Strengthen onboarding and training processes so that agency workers and new GXO colleagues receive consistent induction, standards and ways of working, in close collaboration with the workforce teams Build constructive relationships with local union representatives and support transparent consultation in a developing union environment Deliver site-focused initiatives such as the Respect campaign, ACE training and the annual review process Use and support core HR and workforce systems, including Proton, Visma and the Atos workforce-planning pilot What do you need to be successful A Master's degree in HR, Psychology or a related discipline, or an equivalent level gained through experience Approximately three to five years of experience in an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner position Demonstrable experience supporting a blue-collar workforce is essential; logistics experience is beneficial but not required Experience of employee relations, you will be working closely with trade unions or local social bodies Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge and support operational leaders A structured, proactive approach and the discipline to maintain focus, prioritise effectively and see actions through to completion The resilience and change mindset needed to succeed in a high-volume, dynamic organisation Strong MS Office skills; experience with Proton, Visma or workforce-planning systems is an advantage Fluent English is required. Dutch proficiency is strongly preferred because contracts, collective labour agreements and union discussions are conducted in Dutch; candidates with a strong overall profile and the ability to work confidently with translated documentation will also be considered What do we offer you? You will work alongside dedicated HR administration support, enabling you to focus on employee relations, manager coaching, consistent processes and site initiatives.
