Job Summary: The Director, Strategic Finance & Investor Relations, will play a key role in BWXT's long-term financial planning and strategic decision making. Reporting to the Vice President of Investor Relations & Strategic Finance, the Director will work closely with finance and operational leaders across BWXT to develop the company's long-range financial outlook, understand the financial implications of strategic actions, and provide analysis and recommendations that support capital allocation and long-term value creation. This position offers a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of corporate finance, business strategy and capital markets, with significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence some of BWXT's most important financial and strategic decisions. The position will lead and support a broad range of strategic finance initiatives, including long-range forecasting and scenario analysis, capital expenditure allocations, working capital optimization, financial performance analysis and other enterprise-wide priorities. The Director will be expected to develop a deep understanding of BWXT's businesses and translate complex financial and operational information into clear insights and recommendations for senior management. In addition, the Director will play a role in BWXT's Investor Relations activities, providing exposure to the investment community and an external perspective on the company's strategy, financial performance and valuation. The role will support quarterly earnings, investor communications, management preparation and capital markets analysis, with opportunities for greater involvement in Investor Relations over time. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not initially have direct supervisory responsibilities but will be expected to lead significant cross-functional initiatives and provide leadership and guidance to teams across the organization. Duties / Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Finance & Long-Range Planning Lead BWXT's long-range financial planning and forecasting process, partnering with corporate and business-unit finance teams to develop an integrated view of the company's long-term financial outlook. Develop scenario analyses and financial models to evaluate strategic opportunities, key business drivers, risks and potential outcomes. Analyze financial and operational performance to identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring management attention. Translate complex financial and operational information into clear insights, recommendations and executive-level presentations that support strategic decision-making. 2. Capital Allocation Evaluate capital allocation alternatives and provide financial analysis supporting decisions related to organic investment, acquisitions and divestitures, share repurchases, dividends and other uses of capital. Develop financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate potential returns, risks and strategic implications of major investments and other capital deployment decisions. Partner with business and corporate finance teams to evaluate significant capital investments and other strategic opportunities. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management regarding the implications of strategic initiatives and opportunities for long-term value creation. 3. Working Capital & Finance Initiatives Lead enterprise-wide working capital optimization efforts in partnership with business-unit finance and operational leadership. Analyze working capital performance and key drivers across the businesses, identify opportunities for improvement and help develop actionable plans to improve cash generation. Establish analyses and reporting that provide management with greater visibility into working capital performance and opportunities. Support finance and accounting process improvement initiatives designed to improve efficiency, analytical capabilities and decision support. 4. Investor Relations & Capital Markets Partner with Investor Relations leadership in the development and execution of BWXT's investor relations strategy and external financial messaging. Play an active role in the quarterly earnings process, including financial analysis, development of key messages, preparation of earnings materials and senior management preparation. Support the development of investor presentations, conference materials, earnings call scripts, Q&A documents and other investor communications. Help prepare executive leadership for investor meetings, conferences and roadshows through financial analysis, messaging, competitive intelligence and anticipated investor questions. Support major investor-facing initiatives, including Investor Days and other strategic presentations. Required Skills / Abilities: Strong corporate finance and FP&A capabilities, with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, financial statement analysis and scenario analysis. Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial, operational and market information into actionable recommendations. Ability to develop a strong understanding of business operations and effectively connect operational drivers to financial performance and long-term value creation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to senior executives and other stakeholders. Strong executive presence and the ability to develop effective working relationships with senior leadership, business-unit management and cross-functional teams. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial market and analytical tools such as OneStream, SAP, and Power BI is a plus. Strong project-management skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines. Understanding of public company financial reporting and capital markets Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related field. MBA, CPA or other relevant advanced degree or professional certification is a plus. 7 or more years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, strategic finance or a related corporate finance role. Experience within a publicly traded company is preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. The base salary range for this position in North Carolina (US-NC) at the start of employment is expected to be between $175000 and $238,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
