Job Overview To develop and maintain suppliers for all production parts in accordance to quality, cost and delivery requirements and to ensure continuous improvement of QDC, while reducing purchased – part cost by continually identifying and implementing cost reduction measures with suppliers and controlling inventory to meet current target levels – all the while adhering to the mandated goal to produce machines which meet or exceed the requirements of the design specification. Key Job Responsibilities Builds and maintains strong supplier relationships to support delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness, and supply continuity. Monitors purchase orders, supplier commitments, lead times, capacity, and delivery risks; communicates issues early and coordinates recovery plans. Tracks supplier performance using key metrics and addresses performance issues through improvement plans. Partners with suppliers to identify root causes of shortages and delays and implement corrective actions. Escalates critical supplier issues and works cross-functionally to minimize operational impact. Collaborates with suppliers to reduce lead times, improve reliability, optimize inventory, enhance logistics, and lower costs. Creates manual purchase orders and validates MRP-generated orders to ensure timely supplier acknowledgment. Coordinates disposition of rejected parts to prevent production disruptions and downtime. Leads inventory reduction initiatives to achieve inventory and MOH targets. Uses approved AI, automation, and analytics tools to improve purchasing efficiency, reporting, risk identification, and cost savings. Develops and implements AI-enabled process improvements that automate work, improve accuracy, and increase team productivity. Coordinates purchasing activities for engineering changes, new product launches, and product implementations. Processes ECNs, ERLs, REAs, DCNs, PCNs, and ARs in compliance with KES standards and business objectives. Coordinates inbound logistics to support production, reduce transportation costs, and minimize delivery risks. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field and one to three years of materials experience; two years of college and five to seven years of manufacturing experience working with materials, such as purchasing, planning, or warehousing; or nine to eleven years of manufacturing experience working with Supply Chain. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word. Demonstrates ability to identify workflow-improvement opportunities and use AI-enabled tools or automation to develop practical solutions. Experience evaluating processes, reducing manual workload, and helping others adopt improved ways of working is preferred. Demonstrates ability to manage supplier relationships, resolve delivery and material-availability issues, and hold suppliers accountable for performance commitments. Ability to analyze supplier performance data, identify trends and risks, and coordinate corrective actions with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational, negotiation, problem-solving, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
