What We're Looking For: Education and Experience (S1) Qualified Candidates Will Need: No formal education or experience required Must complete onboarding training, or be enrolled in program within 90 days of hire Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and understand others Basic math skills and good work organization Ability to learn and use powered and non-powered floor care equipment Must be able to work well with others and work in a team environment Learn and follow safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment as required Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally Work outdoors 10% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees Education and Experience (S2) Six months of custodial experience 24 months of total work experience Must complete onboarding training, or be enrolled in program, within 90 days of hire Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and understand others Basic math skills and good organization required Ability to learn and use powered and non-powered floor care equipment Must be able to work well with others and work in a team environment Learn and follow safety procedures; including the wearing personal protective equipment as required Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 60 lbs occasionally required Work outdoors 10% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees Education and Experience (S3) 18 months of custodial experience with 3 years of total work experience Must have completed Building Services Custodial Development Program, or be enrolled in program within 90 days of hire Ability to supervise and train small (3 – 10) groups Ability to read, write and speak English; must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in writing Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics and effectively communicate via a computer Good work organization ability Knowledge of policies and procedures regarding building maintenance and security Working knowledge of power and non-powered floor care equipment Personal protective equipment will be required during specific work duties as determined by the department Ability to lift and carry 25-50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally required Ability to work efficiently and professionally in a fast paced and diverse team setting Will work outdoors 10% of the time in temperatures below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees Valid US or Canadian driver's license What We’d Like You To Know: To learn more about Purdue’s benefits summary CLICK HERE Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position A background check will be required for employment in this position FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible For Overtime) Retirement Eligibility: Non-exempt Defined Contribution Plan Career Stream Administrative and Operational Support 1 Pay Band: S030 Job Code: 20002509 Administrative and Operational Support 2 Pay Band: S030 Job Code: 20002510 Administrative and Operational Support 3 Pay Band S035 Job Code# 20002511 Career Path Maker: https://www.purdue.edu/hr/careerpathmaker/ Who We Are: Purdue is a community built on collaboration, with global perspectives, Boilermaker pride and endless opportunity to live, learn and grow.
