FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN Field Service Technician Role Purpose Provide advanced technical support and field service for SICPA solutions, ensuring system availability, operational continuity, and timely resolution of technical issues. The role combines troubleshooting, maintenance, installations, monitoring, and on-site customer support while acting as a key interface between local operations and higher-level technical support teams. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Maintenance Provide Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, and operational issues. Diagnose and resolve technical incidents within agreed service levels. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Install, configure, optimize, and maintain systems and applications. Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and periodic calibrations. Support repair center activities and technical documentation. Operations & Service Delivery Coordinate field service activities with other technicians and support teams. Act as a liaison between Level 2 and Level 3 support teams. Participate in deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation activities. Escalate critical issues and support incident resolution processes. Define and monitor maintenance-related performance indicators. Contribute to service improvement initiatives and operational excellence. Collaboration & Customer Support Support local teams and customers with technical expertise. Share knowledge and assist in developing technical capabilities within the organization. Provide on-site support when required and participate in on-call rotations. Profile Education Technical degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in technical maintenance, troubleshooting, or field service within industrial, manufacturing, automation, IT, or operational environments. Experience supporting equipment, systems, and field operations. Previous customer-facing technical support experience is an advantage. Technical Skills Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities. Experience with Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft Office tools. Ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related issues. Experience with system monitoring, maintenance, and technical documentation. Desirable Knowledge Computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting. IT support tools such as FTP, SSH, Putty, SVN, and remote access solutions. PLC configuration and basic programming. Beverages, Tobacco, Fuel industry environments or analytical laboratory operations. Additional Requirements Availability for frequent travel and occasional international assignments. Flexibility to work outside business hours and participate in on-call support when required.
