Location: Fort Collins Req ID: 30250 Wage: $100,000 to $160,000 Position Summary The Lead Tooling Engineer works with limited or no direct supervision. The Lead serves in supervisor capacity to the Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Interns, approving time off, conducting performance appraisals, handles performance issues, and generally facilitates the team concept. The Lead Tooling Engineer is responsible for concepting tooling and fixtures, creating material and labor budgets, managing department resources, and reviewing tooling designs. This individual must work closely with the applications group and customers to conceptualize and quote solutions that meet customer specifications. Qualifications Required Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of product design experience is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or experience equivalent will be considered. Previous experience leading teams of engineers. Solid understanding of weldment design and welding processes. AWS Certifications are desirable. Previous experience with industrial robots and automation. ABB and Fanuc robotics knowledge is a plus. Good communication and organizational skills required. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed; travel is occasional. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Supervise and lead Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Interns. Oversee the design, development, procurement, and testing of projects assigned to the Tooling Engineering Team. Conduct regular tooling design and BOM reviews. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills. Relates well to others; works well in a team environment. Work with other LEA entities. Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Success Factors / Job Competencies Participate in the engineering design component of project goals for Lincoln Electric Remain a competent, professional staff member capable of meeting established production and quality goals in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize problem identification and resolution systems. Keep the Engineering Manager informed through timely utilization of verbal and written reports.
