Overview
Entry-level warehouse role responsible for accurately picking customer/production orders and receiving incoming inventory shipments. Focuses on foundational warehouse tasks while learning company systems, safety standards, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
Picking
• Pick items accurately from designated locations per pick tickets, work orders, or scanner prompts.
• Verify item, quantity, and condition against pick list or packing slip before staging.
Receiving
• Receive incoming shipments; unload trucks/containers safely using appropriate equipment.
• Inspect incoming product for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report findings to a lead/supervisor.
• Match receipts against purchase orders/packing slips and enter receipt data into the WMS or inventory system.
• Stage picked and received product in correct locations for the next step in the process.
Safety & Workplace Standards
• Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks; forklifts/order pickers if certified) safely and within certification limits.
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site-specific procedures.
• Keep assigned work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards (5S standards).
• Report accidents, near-misses, and equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy standards for assigned tasks.
• Communicate professionally with team members, leads, and supervisors regarding workload and issues.
• Participate in physical/cycle inventories as needed.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by supervision.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Pick Accuracy: Maintain 99% pick accuracy (correct item, quantity, and condition).
• Receiving Accuracy: 100% of receipts matched and entered into the WMS the same day received.
• Productivity: Meet or exceed established productivity standards for assigned tasks.
• Safety: Zero preventable safety incidents; 100% compliance with PPE and equipment certification requirements.
Required Skills and Abilities
• Ability to read pick tickets, labels, and basic written instructions.
• Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities.
• Willingness to learn scanner/WMS systems; no prior experience required.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and other equipment.
Education Background and Experience
• Preferred: High school diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical Demands (To include but not limited to)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; occasional team lift for heavier items.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to safely use hand trucks/pallet jacks; forklift use not required at this level.
Work Environment
• Warehouse or production environment with variable temperatures, equipment noise, and moving materials.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variation typical of warehouse conditions.
