About this role
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer
Work Location: Lakewood Ranch Total Compensation: $180-$325k/Annual (total compensation)
An active TS/SCI clearance with an adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph is required.
DPG Solutions is seeking a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to develop and support software-based signal processing capabilities for intelligence, defense, and other government missions. You will join a technically diverse team working across DSP algorithms, Linux-based mission systems, and the infrastructure that supports operational applications.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can take ideas from requirements and architecture through software development, integration, testing, and operational support. You will work closely with engineering and development teams to solve technical problems, improve existing capabilities, and help shape future systems.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, debug, and test signal processing algorithms and applications across a variety of platforms.
• Build and integrate DSP software and analytic tools for mission applications.
• Help define requirements, concepts of operations, and architectures for new and evolving systems.
• Develop and troubleshoot software in Linux environments, including integration with the underlying mission infrastructure.
• Support the installation and patching of Enterprise Linux baselines, configuration of supporting hardware, and resolution of operational issues.
• Improve the tools and processes used for change and baseline management, system health monitoring, status reporting, and mission support.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, maintenance, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, software development, and operations teams to deliver reliable capabilities.
• Support occasional travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of relevant engineering or software development experience.
• Strong foundation in digital signal processing and communications theory.
• Programming experience in Python, Java, C++, or another object-oriented or functional language.
• Experience developing software in Linux environments.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and communicate solutions clearly to engineering and mission teams.
• Strong organization, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with an adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with software-defined radio, including receiver architectures, software channelization, modulation and demodulation, and spectral analysis.
• Experience using X-Midas to develop RF transmission, receiver, or software-defined radio capabilities.
• Experience with telemetry systems, error-correcting codes, or digital video formats.
• Experience with CUDA or GPU-accelerated processing.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including concept development, design, implementation, testing, and production support.
• Ability to present technical and analytical findings clearly in written products.
• Active Security+ certification.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of signal processing, software, and mission systems. The right candidate can develop algorithms and applications, understand how they run in a Linux environment, and work with a broader team to make those capabilities reliable in operation. You should be comfortable moving between new development, integration, troubleshooting, and conversations about what the system needs next.
