Status (full time/part time): Part-Time (Afternoon, Evening, and Weekend shifts)

Overview of BLOC

BLOC Ministries is an inner-city ministry committed to living and serving in the neighborhoods we call home. Our mission is to build meaningful relationships with our neighbors and share hope in the midst of brokenness. We intentionally serve underserved communities, walking alongside individuals and families with compassion, consistency, and care.

With a team of approximately 80 staff members, BLOC serves the community through a variety of ministries, including after-school programs, job training, a sports performance center, a daytime hospitality center for women experiencing homelessness and addiction, recovery homes for men and women, a coffee shop, equine-assisted learning, an immigrant welcome center, and other programs designed to meet practical needs, build relationships, and love our neighbors well.

Position Summary

The Survivor Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, temporary shelter for adult women and their children who are Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence. The SSS is to ensure that Trauma-Informed Care is provided to residents and other staff members. The SSS fosters a positive work and living environment for all.

Position Summary:

• Know and uphold the policies in the house.

• Know the weekly schedule for residents.

• Administer drug tests and record results.

• Transport ladies to appointments and work.

• Administer medication as needed.

• Track resident’s money.

• Attend staff meetings.

• Agreement and comply with BLOC employee handbook

Required skills and experience:

• Knowledge of addiction is preferred.

• Ability to handle conflict

$15 an hour
