As Applied AI Specialist you will lead the practical adoption, optimisation and governance of applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g. Co-pilots, agents, automation and decision support tools) that improve organisational productivity, decision quality and ways of working, while ensuring they are safe, ethical, value driven and aligned to organisational strategy.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for:
Leading the practical deployment and optimisation of AI enabled productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams Premium, low code/AI automation, internal AI assistants). Translating organisational problems into clear, testable applied AI use cases focused on productivity, knowledge work, insight generation and operational efficiency. Evaluation and selection of AI tools and features, balancing capability, risk, cost and user benefit. Configuration, piloting, evaluating and iteration of AI tooling (including prompt strategies, agent design, workflow integration and governance controls).

Qualifications Essential
Holds highly developed specialist knowledge and expertise acquired through master's degree level or equivalent qualification/experience. Additionally holds specialist knowledge of the relevant area(s) of expertise as outlined in the person specification, acquired through relevant practical experience and training/development
Qualifications Desirable
Artificial intelligence certification or Human computer interaction experience.
Experience Essential
Extensive experience in implementing a range of data science techniques, such as machine learning and natural language processing to achieve required business outcomes.

Demonstrable experience applying AI or advanced automation tools in real operational or productivity contexts. Extensive experience leading or contributing to AI tool pilots, adoption programmes or digital productivity initiatives.
Experience Desirable
Background in healthcare analytics and NHS systems.
Skills Essential
Expert in complex and broad AI techniques, tools and delivery methods, particularly LLMs and agents.
Skills Essential
Ability to design end to end AI enabled workflows, not just isolated tools. Ability to configure, test and refine AI tools in real business contexts.
