About this role

Job summary To contribute to the strategic development and modernisation of mental health services in Waltham Forest by assisting in the strategic approach to integrating mental health and physical health service development in primary care in Waltham Forest. To improve the capacity of the primary care services to meet the needs of people with common mental health problems and Long term conditions through the development and management of Waltham Forest Talking Therapies To improve integrated working between primary and secondary care in relation to mental health.

Main duties of the job To provide leadership, supervision and line management for senior clinical practitioners and psychological wellbeing practitioners in WF Talking Therapies. This will include day-to day guidance and support to the team, management supervision, case management, performance management, and monitoring service delivery 2. To provide clinical leadership alongside the WF Talking Therapies Professional & Strategic Lead and Clinical lead. 3. To engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including users and carers in the mental health primary care agenda. 4. To ensure clinical staff are familiar with, and use, the PC-MIS database, producing reports/ figures/statistics/performance/flow rates and data on clinical outcomes for the WF Talking Therapies Professional & Strategic Lead as required. 5. To develop/coordinate/edit and review WF Talking Therapies material for the intranet and be the liaison link with the CCG press office for the internet 6. To assist in the development and management of the evidence based models and National guidance for WF Talking Therapies. 7. To work with Talking Therapies Professional & Strategic Lead and Clinical lead to establish the appropriate future direction of the service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Waltham Forest Talking Therapies formerly known as Waltham Forest IAPT, (Improving Access to Psychological Services) for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the management team.

Main duties of the job

We are keen to offer this opportunity to a CBT therapist with at least 3 years experience in an IAPT primary care service undertaking operational duties, line managing staff and offering clinical supervision while carrying a small caseload.

The post holder will demonstrate high standards of supervision, strong leadership and a commitment to team working. We are preferably looking for someone who has managerial and or supervisory experience as the main aspect of this role will be operational. The successful candidate will maintain a small caseload of clients in addition to his/her operational role, which will include performance management, budget analysis, managing sickness absences, health roster , service development and supporting the team to meet Trust/NHS Talking Therapies KPI’s. The post holder will also have knowledge and skills in using Trust & Talking Therapies Data Systems.

The post holder will have a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy qualification, hold practitioner accreditation with the BABCP or be a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period.

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, CEME) This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
