Salary - £26,300

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, fixed-term for 9 months.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Working on site 5 days out of 7.

This role is ideal for anyone interested in developing their knowledge and experience in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and mental health rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be joining a highly supportive and experienced therapy team, including qualified Occupational Therapists (OTs), OTAs, Activity Coordinators, Assistant Psychologists, and Consultant Psychologists. There will also be significant opportunities to gain valuable experience working across the wider Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and contributing to patient recovery journeys.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting OTs in delivering individual and group therapeutic interventions that promote independent living, social inclusion, wellbeing, and recovery.Assisting patients to develop daily living, cognitive, social, financial, and coping skills.Monitoring, recording, and reporting patient progress and engagement with interventions.Contributing to risk assessments, care planning, and MDT discussions.You can find additional information in the attached job description.

Person Specification

Requirements Essential

Candidates must have GCSEs or O-Levels (grades AC), a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

Desirable

This is an entry-level role; however, prior experience working in a health and social care setting is beneficial
