This role is offered on a bank (0-hour) contract. There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs. You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability, making this a flexible option but it may not be suitable if you are seeking consistent or full-time hours.

Our Imaging Department plays an essential role in the Trust, offering a range of diagnostic tests with modern equipment. We have 4 digital x-ray rooms, a newly installed CT scanner, 2 mobile x-ray, 8 image intensifiers and a 3T and 1.5T MRI Scanner. This ensures we are able to provide the best imaging facilities for our patients.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant may be asked to work extended weekdays and weekends, roles are available within X-Ray and MRI, experience in at least one modality is essential.
You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will play an important role in patient care, so you should be positive, adaptable and work to high standards to ensure our Trust maintains its good reputation.
To take an active part in the provision of the Imaging Department service whilst always maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic imaging and patient care. Organise service provision under supervision of the team leader. To directly supervise Radiographic Assistants, apprentices and students and to maximise throughput and monitor image quality.

Qualifications Essential
Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Radiography Current HCPC Registration
Experience Essential
Post-Basic Registration with extensive relevant experience within the NHS Extensive experience on Trust imaging equipment Wide ranging experience of plain film, fluoroscopy and mobile radiography and/or MRI.
Desirable
Experience of specialist orthopaedic procedures
Skills & Knowledge Essential
Must communicate complex information such as when discussing allergies and past Medical history, prior to undertaking examinations. Expected to discuss sensitive information i.e. pregnancy related issues, with patients Expected to undertake examinations on patients with special needs or learning difficulties. Must possess good verbal English Able to communicate by face-to-face contact, telephone and e-mail Expected to produce high quality diagnostic images in line with ALARA and IR(ME)R regulations To act as practitioner and operator to challenge unjustified requests To be able to respond to challenging and difficult situations Understanding of MRI safety Current BLS, manual handling and fire safety training
