Do you have the enthusiasm, interest and energy to be part of delivering excellent care to CYP & families with NF2 related and other Schwannomatosis within Genomic Medicine at St mary's hospital , Manchester?
The NF2 team pleased to be able to offer a band 7 Paediatric Specialist Nurse with cross cover to adult services.
This post provides an exciting opportunity to join the established nationally commissioned service for NF2 - related Schwannomatosis . This service consists of four clinical / administrative co-ordinating centres (Oxford, Cambridge, Guys and St Thomas's London and Manchester). Manchester is the coordinating center for the North-West region and provides care for paediatric and adults with NF2
You will also need to establish effective working relationships across the organisation and National NF2 Network to continually improve our service delivery, patient experience and provide expert clinical care to complex patients. This post is based in Manchester, but will involve some travelling within the region to visit satellites centres, patients and their carers at home.
The team provides support to families Monday-Friday from 08:00 - 7.00
Main duties of the job
Work clinically to provide expert care to complex patients with chronic long termneeds. Act as key member of the MDT in planning, co-ordinating and evaluating care,prioritising need and ensure excellent service standards are maintained. Assess paediatric and adult patients, using advanced history taking and assessment skills in a clinic environment, home visits and on the telephone or by email (many of the patients are deaf). Participate in service development, policy change and business planning within theNF2 service. Organise patient information days, support patient groups, and establish and maintain links with relevant charities. Liaise with local and peripheral oncology teams to co-ordinate specific investigations, clinical reviews, treatment and data collection for patients receiving Bevacizumab treatment Develop relationships with health care agencies and other NHS trusts across theNorth West region, referring to and liaising with services appropriately.

What is a DBS Check?

The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.
