£16.00 per hour

Main duties of the job As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

Will have NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent

You must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Experience of working in a hospital of at least one year is preferred or at least two years community experience.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong IT skills.

Excellent people and customer service skills are essential, as you will be working closely both with patients and the hospital team.

Be highly organised and an analytical individual, you will have excellent attention to detail

Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Shrewsbury hospital, ranked as 'Good' in the last CQC inspection, is purpose built and well equipped with 30 en-suite bedrooms, 3 operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, an Ambulatory Care Unit, and a busy outpatients department which includes physiotherapy and diagnostic imaging. Our diagnostic provision includes X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI and CT facilities.

We offer the most up to date surgical treatments combined with a warm welcome and a professional and caring service from our matron-led nursing team. We specialise in the areas of orthopaedics, ophthalmology, cosmetic surgery, and women's health, but also undertake general surgery, urology, and interventions for chronic pain management.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Working closely with our Pharmacy Manager, as a Pharmacy Technician you will have defined responsibilities including but not limited to:

Providing in house pharmacy servicesAssist with dispensingCarry out procurement, distribution, stock taking and the replenishment of pharmacy items to the ward and departments.Attending hospital and department meetings

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential
