Main duties of the job As a Head Porter, you will:

Lead, supervise, and support the Portering Team. Manage rotas, annual leave, training, and performance. Ensure the safe transport of patients, equipment, furniture, and supplies. Coordinate waste, laundry, stock, post, and courier services. Support conference room setups, office moves, and reception cover when required. Assist with building security, parking patrols, and emergency procedures. Ensure compliance with health & safety, infection control, and data protection requirements. Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation.

Located in Jesmond; you will be working at one of the north easts leading private hospitals, with a Good CQC rating, we have 27 en-suite private bedrooms, 3 state-of-the-art operating theatres, a dedicated breast care unit. We offer on-site pathology services and diagnostic imaging including CT and MRI, to help patients after surgery we have on-site physiotherapy specialists. We have a special focus in the areas of orthopaedics, spinal surgery, ophthalmology, weight loss surgery and cosmetic treatment.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head Porter to lead our portering team and support the delivery of high-quality facilities services across the hospital. In this hands-on leadership role, you will coordinate day-to-day portering operations, ensure the safe and efficient movement of patients, equipment, supplies, and waste while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

As a Head Porter, you will:
