Youll also have practical experience of completing assessments, planning, implementing evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a wide variety of training courses to support you reaching your career goals. As an Occupational Therapist you will be: Completing neurological assessments, treatment planning and interventions Rehabilitation interventions to improve function and independence with ADLs Cognitive assessment/rehabilitation Using of therapeutic handling skills Assessing environment and equipment needs including specialist seating Identifying ongoing needs whilst maximising quality of life Liaising with community colleagues to facilitate complex discharge planning Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans Supervising Occupational Therapy support staff and students Implementing and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities

Key responsibilities include completing neurological assessments, planning treatments, improving activities of daily living (ADLs) through rehabilitation, and conducting cognitive assessments. You will also use therapeutic handling, assess environmental and equipment needs, and liaise with community colleagues for discharge planning. Familiarity with outcome measures like FIM/FAM is expected. You will manage a caseload, implement evidence-based interventions, and measure their effectiveness, benefiting from extensive training and support as part of a network of healthcare professionals. Additionally, supervision of OT support staff and students is a component of the role, which also emphasizes teamwork and career development.

Join the full multi-disciplinary team at Avonfield – the recently renovated 19-bed specialised neurological centre - providing specialist rehabilitation and care for people with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries.

Qualifications Essential

You will be HCPC registered and have experience in working with individuals with neurological conditions, supporting their rehabilitation and condition management. Knowledge of outcome measures such as FIM/FAM, CRS-R, WHIM, and TOMS is also required, along with a solid understanding of Occupational Therapy theory.
