Job summary
Deputise for and assists the Laboratory IT Manager in order to maintain a high quality service within the resources available. The day-to-day management of clinical and non-clinical IT systems within pathology (includes collating of statistics and monitoring systems).
Main duties of the job
o To provide IT support across Laboratory medicine. This covers clinical, and non-clinical lab systems, plus first line support for other IT equipment.
o To manage, develop, maintain, and train users for various Pathology and Hospital systems including Telepath, Review, tQuest, Keystone, DAWN, Blood Track, Roche Vantage, and Sectra Digital Pathology.
o To be a member of the Directorate team providing policies and procedures meeting ISO 15189 accreditation and guidelines within National programme for IT.
o To represent the department at relevant meetings or strategy groups and support decision-making on behalf of the department
o To continuously monitor standards of service in line with the National plan, local requirements, activity, and financial targets.
o To produce monthly statistics covering Pathology departmental workloads.
o To undertake project work as required by the department.
o To undertake specific tasks to assist in the delivery of the corporate agenda.
o To stock control IT consumables and equipment within the department.
o To be responsible for IT Asset management.
o To be responsible for Regular Data archiving of the Laboratory information system to ensure data integrity and validity.
o To support the production of business cases in support of service developments as directed by senior Pathology management.
o To manage ward-order communications for Laboratory medicine.
