Job summary
Suffolk Sexual Health offers a level 3 integrated sexual health service for the prevention, management and treatment of sexually transmitted infection and the provision of contraceptive services, including long acting methods. The service is delivered at three main hubs at Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft, with a satellite clinic at Haverhill. The Suffolk HIV service is delivered at our Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds clinics, providing specialist assessment and management of HIV and associated conditions, to support individuals to stay well, remain engaged in care, and to prevent ongoing transmission. The post holder will work for both services, and will be based at our Bury St Edmunds clinic.
Main duties of the job
Provision of expert clinical care, complex case management and medical oversight for the services. Training and development for nursing and medical staff. Innovation and service development. Leading and participation for clinical audit, clinical governance and multi-disciplinary team activities. Role modelling preventative care programmes and working to national professional guidance.

Job description Job responsibilities
In conjunction with the existing team, the post holder will have responsibility for the provision of advice, screening and diagnosis of service users with sexually transmitted infections and HIV and specialist contraceptive services including long acting reversible methods. They will provide the required support and expertise for the further development and innovation required for the Suffolk Sexual Health and HIV services. Clinical expertise and broad experience is required in order to support the further training and development of nursing and medical teams and for service delivery which meets national standards and guidance. Contribution to the clinical governance and safeguarding arrangements for the service is required.

Qualifications Essential
On GMC specialist register or within 6 months of gaining certificate of completion of training (CCT) in community sexual and reproductive healthcare (CSRH) speciality. Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in all aspects of GUM, HIV and contraception. Letter of competence in LARC for SDI and/or IUD Post graduate certificate in medical education Diploma in GUM, diploma in HIV, DCSRH
Desirable
Experience in service delivery change and modernisation Experience of working with young people and vulnerable groups CSRH Faculty Registered Trainer and/ or STIF Trainer Ultrasound specialist skills and/ or special interest such as psychosexual medicine, colposcopy, vasectomy, TOP surgery, menopause, forensic gynaecology.
