Job summary
You will be providing expertise knowledge on the wards and community, as well as supporting a multidisciplinary team. You will also be helping with practice changes within the organisation and ensuring we are updated with the best practices in evidence-based care.
We are offering a great new way of working, independent, autonomous and supporting the patients from admission to discharge where you will be working from 9am-5pm Mondays to Fridays.
Previous experience at Band 6 level in community/acute is essential and you will be required to cover acute and community sites as and when required.
You will be working between sites, covering Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust as well as our community sites in Lambeth & Southwark as and when required.

Main duties of the job
You will be delivering evidence based expert nursing care with a high degree of professional autonomy on a daily basis by providing specialist advice to other health professionals and patients.
You will provide regular updates on developments and issues with the service highlighting issues in a timely manner.
You will evaluate practices to ensure interventions are effective, efficient andmake a positive difference for patients and colleagues.

The nurse-led team works in partnership with patients, their carers and healthcare professionals to provide expert wound care advice and follow up care.
The team aims to improve and support high standards of practice through clinical consultations, regular audits, development of guidelines and polices and by delivering formal educational training to healthcare professionals.
We believe that training and education are key factors in pressure ulcer prevention.

Advanced clinical, managerial and leadership skills in specialty. Evidence of teaching skills in particular teaching patients in how to manage their conditions and raise their awareness of their condition. IT Skills

Professional/ Statutory Registration Essential
RN1 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality.

BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience Your professional knowledge acquired at degree level will be supplemented by specialist training, experience and short courses to Masters level equivalent.
