Job summary
Goodcare Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our team for three to four sessions per week on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027.
We are a well-established GP practice serving approximately 10,000 patients in West London. This is an additional post intended to increase our clinical capacity and provide greater continuity of care for our patients.
Working days are negotiable, and we will aim to agree a suitable pattern with the successful candidate. Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced GPs. Any newly qualified applicant must have completed CCT and be eligible for inclusion on the GMC GP Register and NHS England Medical Performers List before commencing employment.
The successful candidate will receive an annualised salary of £11,000 per weekly session.
The post is funded until 31 March 2027. Any continuation beyond this date would be subject to a review of the practices requirements and available funding and cannot be guaranteed.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality general medical services to the practice population and work collaboratively with the wider clinical and administrative team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations.
Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients presenting with acute and long-term conditions.
Prescribing safely and appropriately in accordance with current guidance and the practice formulary.
Reviewing test results, clinical correspondence and medication requests.
Making referrals and seeking specialist advice where appropriate.
Maintaining accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records.
Completing the clinical administration associated with patient consultations.
Participating in agreed duty doctor, home-visiting or clinical triage responsibilities where required.
Contributing to the management of long-term conditions, QOF and enhanced services.
Following practice procedures for safeguarding, infection prevention, medicines management and clinical governance.
Participating in relevant clinical meetings, significant-event reviews, audits and quality-improvement work.
Working effectively with the multidisciplinary practice team and external health and care professionals.
Supporting the practice in providing safe, accessible and patient-centred care.

The postholder will:
Clinical responsibilitiesProvide the full range of general medical services ordinarily expected from a salaried GP.
Conduct appropriate clinical assessments and formulate safe, evidence-based management plans.
Manage patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed health concerns.
Manage acute presentations and patients with long-term conditions.
Prescribe in accordance with clinical need, local formularies and national guidance.
Review investigation results and take appropriate follow-up action.
Arrange referrals, investigations and follow-up care where clinically indicated.
Carry out home visits and duty responsibilities where included in the agreed job plan.
Provide appropriate health-promotion and disease-prevention advice.
Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
Maintain professional standards and work within the limits of individual competence.
Administrative responsibilitiesComplete clinical documentation and associated administrative work promptly.
Process clinical correspondence, prescriptions, reports and referrals relating to patients under the postholders care.
Use practice clinical and communication systems effectively.
Contribute to QOF, enhanced services and other practice performance requirements.
Follow practice policies, protocols and standard operating procedures.
Clinical governance and professional developmentMaintain GMC registration, a licence to practise and inclusion on the Medical Performers List throughout the appointment.
Maintain appropriate professional indemnity arrangements.
Participate in appraisal and revalidation requirements.
Undertake relevant continuing professional development.
Participate in clinical audit, significant-event analysis and quality-improvement activity.
Comply with requirements relating to confidentiality, information governance, health and safety, infection prevention and equality and diversity.
Attend relevant practice and clinical meetings where these fall within the agreed working pattern.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC. Full GMC registration with a licence to practise. Inclusion on the GMC GP Register by the employment start date. MRCGP and CCT in General Practice, or expected completion before the employment start date. Inclusion on, or eligibility for inclusion on, the NHS England Medical Performers List by the employment start date.
Desirable
Evidence of relevant additional qualifications or specialist clinical interests. Recent continuing professional development relevant to general practice.
Experience Essential
Experience of working in UK general practice through employment or GP specialty training. Experience of assessing and managing patients presenting with acute and long-term conditions. Experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in primary care. Understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and confidentiality.
Desirable
Experience using SystmOne. Experience contributing to QOF and enhanced-service delivery. Experience of clinical audit or quality-improvement work. Experience working with a diverse patient population.
