Join Our Community Learning Disability Nursing Team in Salford
Are you a passionate and motivated Registered Learning Disability Nurse looking to make a real difference in people's lives? We have an exciting opportunity to join the Salford Community Learning Disability Service, supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve the best possible health outcomes and live fulfilling, independent lives.
We are seeking either a Band 5 Learning Disability Nurse eager to develop into a Band 6 role within 12 months, or an experienced Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse ready to bring their expertise to our dynamic and dedicated team.
Working within a multidisciplinary service, you will play a key role in promoting health, wellbeing and independence for people with learning disabilities and their carers. You'll work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals, ensuring individuals receive high-quality, person-centred care tailored to their needs.

Main duties of the job
Make a Difference Every Day in Learning Disability Nursing
We're looking for a compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic Learning Disability Nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding person-centred care. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping adults with learning disabilities achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes.
As a valued member of the service, you'll bring a positive, flexible and proactive approach, with a genuine commitment to partnership working and collaborative care. No two days are the same, as you'll manage a diverse caseload that reflects the unique needs of the local community.
Working closely with colleagues across health and social care, you'll build strong relationships with individuals, families and carers, ensuring care is coordinated, holistic and tailored to each person's goals and aspirations. Through effective communication and the use of accessible tools and approaches, you'll champion person-centred practice and empower individuals to have a voice in their care.
You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of community settings, completing high-quality, holistic assessments and supporting individuals to access the right care at the right time. While working independently, you'll receive ongoing guidance, supervision and support from experienced senior staff, helping you grow in confidence and develop your professional skills.

Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse with current NMC Learning Disability Nurse registration
Desirable
Nursing Qualification at degree level
Knowledge, experience and training Essential
Evidence of Continuous Professional development (CPD) Experience of working with young people / adults who have a learning disability Experience and skill in providing guidance/support/advice to carers and providers
Skills and Abilities Essential
Excellent interpersonal skills including observation listening and empathy Clear oral and written communication skills for communicating with clients, families and other work colleagues The ability to develop effective working relationships with other professionals and colleagues Demonstrate the skills of individual care planning process, assessment and planning intervention Demonstrates initiative when working independently and as part of a team Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs

Ability and skills to present and train others Full UK driving license with willingness to use own car for work purposes
