Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic cardiologist with an interest in cardiac imaging to work across the Trust including our acute hospitals and the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). This is a new post which offers an exciting opportunity to develop and expand the department's imaging portfolio. The precise job plan will be tailored to the skills of the applicant alongside the needs of the department
This post will support the existing team of interventional and non interventional cardiologists which at present delivers an elective and urgent service including 24/7 Primary PCI. There would be a commitment to a 1:6 weekend general cardiology on call which would include coronary care ward rounds, cardiology ward reviews and hospital referrals.
The post has no commitment to Acute General Medicine but does involve participation in a 1:9 Consultant Cardiologist of the week rota
The post joins a dynamic team of cardiologists in delivering secondary Cardiology services for the North Cumbrian population. This developing department provides cardiology services to a local urban and rural population of approximately 320,000 people

Qualifications Essential
Valid Full Registration with the General Medical Council Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register CCT/CESR Membership of the Royal College Physicians or equivalent MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
Desirable
Higher medical degree BSE or equivalent training in trans thoracic echo
Experience Essential
High level of clinical experience and competence in Clinical Cardiology Experience in cardiac imaging with accreditation in at least one of the following: cardiac CT or MRI
Desirable
Experience in district general hospital practice. Experience in the management of patients with Inherited Cardiac Conditions
