The Haematology Research Team is recruiting!
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Haematology Research Nurse to join our expanding clinical research team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge haematology studies and improve outcomes for patients participating in clinical trials.
Main duties of the job
It is a full time position (1.0 WTE), for a 12-Month fixed term contract and the post will be based at St James University Hospital.
The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the Haematology Research Portfolio.
The main tasks are:
Coordinating and managing haematology clinical trials including phase 1 through to later phase.Screen, recruit, consent, and support patients participating in research studies.Treatment delivery of IMP including Immunotherapies and SACT.In addition of being responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinical care planning, delivery, safety, and patient satisfaction are to a very high standards, compliance with Trust policy, study protocol requirements, local and national guidance and legislation is required.

As a Haematology Research Nurse, you will play a key role in the delivery and coordination of clinical research studies within haematology services. Working closely with consultants, multidisciplinary teams, sponsors, and research organisations, you will ensure studies are conducted safely, ethically, and in accordance with regulatory requirements. What you will bring to the role We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual who can bring enthusiasm for research, excellent patient-centred care, and strong organisational skills to the role. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and manage competing priorities within a busy clinical research environment. A proactive approach, attention to detail, commitment to high-quality data collection, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through clinical research are essential. Experience in haematology, oncology, SACT delivery or clinical trials would be highly valued, alongside a willingness to continue developing professionally within research practice. The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as required.
