About this role
The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging is seeking a trained Staff Physician in Nuclear Medicine to join our growing radiology department across the Greater Houston area. The successful candidate will provide a broad range of image-guided diagnostic procedures. Position Key Accountabilities:
• Perform and interpret a broad range of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging studies, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, planar imaging, and other specialized examinations. • Evaluate patients and determine the most appropriate nuclear medicine imaging or therapeutic approach. • Provide and oversee radiopharmaceutical therapies in accordance with established clinical protocols and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to support accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up. • Provide pre- and post-procedure patient management, including counseling regarding preparation, radiation safety, and follow-up care. • Participate in inpatient and outpatient nuclear medicine services across affiliated clinical sites. • Contribute to departmental quality improvement, education, research, and peer-review activities. • Participate in resident, fellow, technologist, and medical student education. • Participate in call coverage as assigned.
Qualifications:
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency or equivalent training. • Fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Radiology, or equivalent qualifications. • Board certification or board eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine, as applicable. • Texas Medical License or Faculty Temporary License. • Eligibility for appropriate federal and state radioactive materials and radiopharmaceutical authorizations. • Strong clinical, interpretive, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Experience with PET/CT, SPECT/CT, radionuclide therapy, and other nuclear medicine procedures preferred. • Commitment to patient-centered care, multidisciplinary collaboration, education, and continuous quality improvement.
