Junior Data Engineer Location: Kansas City, KS (Hybrid - 2 days onsite) Overview Seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join a growing Data Architecture, Engineering, and Analytics team. This role will support enterprise data modernization initiatives focused on migrating legacy data warehouse solutions into Databricks and Azure cloud environments.The ideal candidate will have hands-on Databricks experience, strong Python development skills, and exposure to Azure. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced data architects and senior engineers while contributing to large-scale cloud transformation efforts. Required Skills & Experience Must-Have Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Databricks (top priority) • Strong Python development experience • Experience working in Azure environments • Data engineering and data pipeline development experience • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and best practices • Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Data Lake experience • Data warehouse or lakehouse experience • DB2 experience • Data governance exposure • Business analysis experience • Agile/Scrum environment experience • Reporting and analytics exposure • Experience with Power BI • Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar platforms • Exposure to Kafka, TensorFlow, or other modern data technologies • Salesforce or CRM experience Responsibilities Data Engineering & Development

• Build and maintain real-time and batch data integrations from various source systems into cloud-based data platforms. • Develop and support scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and workflow automation solutions. • Design, build, and maintain dimensional data models used for analytics and reporting. • Transform, cleanse, and structure raw data for enterprise consumption. • Optimize data pipelines, datasets, and SQL queries for performance and scalability. • Support testing efforts, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing. Production Support

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within data pipelines, legacy systems, and cloud platforms. • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical data services. • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, jobs, and data processes. • Follow change management and deployment processes, including CI/CD practices. Collaboration & Strategy

• Partner with architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions. • Gather requirements and support data-sharing initiatives across the organization. • Contribute to cloud platform modernization and migration efforts. • Provide status updates and communicate project progress to stakeholders. Continuous Learning & Improvement

• Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies. • Learn and adopt modern data technologies and architectural best practices. • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and team efficiency. • Contribute to data governance and data quality initiatives. Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Software Development, or a related technical field. • Experience writing SQL in environments such as SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2. • Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms. • Experience building or supporting data lakes, data warehouses, or lakehouse solutions. • Understanding of data modeling, data mapping, and data governance concepts. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39.00 - $43.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
