Job Title: Yard WorkerJob DescriptionJoin our team as a Yard Worker, where you will play a crucial role in responding to car accidents by towing wrecked vehicles to our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to 'check in' these vehicles, which involves entering detailed information using a handheld device and ensuring each car is treated with care, regardless of its condition. This position requires basic technical skills, as you will be trained to use our easy-to-navigate software. Once checked in, vehicles are cleaned and moved to the holding lot for auction.Responsibilities
• Respond to car accidents and tow wrecked vehicles to the facility. • Operate a handheld device to enter vehicle information such as color, make, model, VIN number, and visible damage. • Determine the quality of each vehicle. • Take pictures of vehicles using a handheld device. • Ensure each vehicle is treated with care and cleaned thoroughly. • Move vehicles to the holding lot after check-in and cleaning. Essential Skills
• Basic technical skills to operate a cellphone-type device. • Attention to detail when checking in and cleaning vehicles. • Ability to stand and walk all day in an outdoor environment. • General labor skills including heavy lifting and use of power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in general labor, construction, or production roles. • Self-starter with a strong work ethic. • Ability to take direction and be trained on new processes. Work EnvironmentYou will work outdoors in a junkyard/lot environment, experiencing various weather conditions. The standard shift is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Expect to be on your feet all day, with walking and standing as primary activities. Training will be provided on all software and job processes. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Millington, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
