About this role

Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role focuses on setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment to fabricate and assemble metal components according to detailed specifications and blueprints. You will perform MIG welding, including spray arc and short arc processes, and work at a high production rate while maintaining strict safety standards. The position involves repairing and maintaining metal equipment and structures of various sizes, using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools to ensure precise and high-quality work.Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment for production and repair work. • Fabricate and assemble metal components using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools according to specifications and blueprints. • Read and interpret blueprints accurately to determine welding requirements and assembly details. • Perform MIG welding, primarily spray arc (approximately 90%) and short arc (approximately 10%), to complete production and repair tasks. • Work in a safe manner at a high production rate, consistently following safety procedures and guidelines. • Level, square, and align parts while they are tacked into place to ensure proper fit and structural integrity. • Use rigging and hoisting techniques with an overhead crane to move and position materials and equipment safely. • Fix and rewire welding machines, including handling wire rolls weighing approximately 40 pounds. • Lift and hold materials weighing up to 50 pounds and set them down gently to avoid damage or injury. • Stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours, while performing welding and fabrication tasks. • Climb up and down equipment to fit or weld parts, sometimes using one hand, while maintaining safe working practices. • Repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes to keep them in proper working condition. Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding, including spray arc and short arc techniques. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. • Experience in fabrication and assembly of metal components using welding and related tools. • Capability to work safely at a high production rate in a manufacturing environment. • Skill in leveling, squaring, and aligning parts during tacking and welding. • Knowledge of rigging and hoisting procedures using an overhead crane. • Ability to fix and rewire welding machines, including handling wire rolls weighing approximately 40 pounds. • Physical ability to lift and hold up to 50 pounds and set items down gently. • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours during shifts. • Comfort with climbing on and off equipment to fit and weld parts, sometimes one handed. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a MIG welder in a manufacturing or fabrication shop. • Experience in metal fabrication, including fitting and assembly work. • Strong blueprint reading skills for complex assemblies. • Familiarity with using cutters, shapers, and measuring tools in metal fabrication. • Ability to repair and maintain a variety of metal equipment and structures. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Saint George, SC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
