Data Center Fire Alarm InstallerJob DescriptionWe are seeking experienced Fire Alarm Technicians to install, maintain, and service commercial fire alarm systems on construction and retrofit projects. This role focuses on low-voltage and electrical work, including conduit installation, cable pulling, and device termination, while ensuring systems are installed accurately, tested thoroughly, and operate reliably in a variety of commercial environments.Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and service commercial fire alarm systems on construction and retrofit projects. • Bend and install electrical conduit, with a preference for EMT, in commercial settings. • Pull and route low-voltage and electrical cabling throughout commercial environments. • Install and terminate fire alarm devices, ensuring clean, accurate, and reliable connections. • Install and connect fire alarm components including pull stations, horns and strobes, smoke detectors, heat detectors, and control panels. • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics to plan and execute installations. • Perform system testing and verification to confirm proper operation and code compliance. • Troubleshoot wiring and device issues to quickly identify and resolve system problems. • Work safely and efficiently on active construction sites, manufacturing facilities, schools, hospitals, and office buildings. • Use ladders, lifts, and a variety of hand and power tools to complete installations and service work. • Coordinate work with other trades on-site to ensure smooth project execution. • Maintain a professional, safety-focused presence on all job sites. Essential Skills
• MINIMUM of 2 years of experience in fire alarm, low-voltage, electrical, or a closely related field. • Strong background in electrical or low-voltage systems, particularly in commercial environments. • Proficiency in bending and installing conduit, with EMT experience strongly preferred. • Demonstrated experience pulling wire and cable in commercial settings. • Hands-on experience installing and terminating fire alarm devices and components. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics accurately. • Familiarity with commercial construction sites and typical construction practices. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites. • Comfort working with ladders, lifts, and a range of hand and power tools. • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving fire alarm wiring and device issues. • Commitment to safety and adherence to job site safety protocols and PPE requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• NICET certification in fire alarm systems is preferred but not required. • OSHA 10 certification is highly desirable. • Experience with major fire alarm system manufacturers such as Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, EST, or FireLite. • Experience troubleshooting complete fire alarm systems in commercial facilities. • working on construction sites, manufacturing facilities, schools, hospitals, and office buildings. • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as project needs require. Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor environments, and often involves working at heights using ladders and lifts. You will regularly use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, cutters, pliers, drills, impacts, and termination tools. A strong safety orientation is essential, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety boots, and safety vest. You must bring your own hand tools and PPE on the first day and for all assignments. The environment is fast-paced and physically active, with regular interaction with other trades and construction personnel. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
