About this role

Job Title: CNC OperatorJob DescriptionThis entry-level CNC Operator role offers the opportunity to learn and grow into a machinist within a clean, modern contract manufacturing environment. You will support CNC machining operations by loading and unloading parts, changing tooling, performing basic machine cleaning, using precision hand tools, and inspecting parts to ensure quality standards are met. Responsibilities • Load and unload parts into CNC machines safely and efficiently. • Load, change, and adjust tooling as directed to support machining operations. • Clean machines during and after runs, removing chips and debris to maintain a safe and organized work area. • Use basic hand tools such as thread gauges, air gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices as needed. • Perform deburring on parts when required to meet finish and quality requirements. • Inspect machined parts using appropriate inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. • Operate a variety of CNC equipment, which may include Matsuura, HAAS VF2, HAAS VF6, Doosan Puma V400 Lathe, and NMV3000DCG machines under supervision. • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures to complete assigned tasks. • Support mechanical and machining activities related to mills and lathes as directed by supervisors or experienced machinists. • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and housekeeping throughout the shift. • Collaborate with team members in the CNC department to meet production goals and deadlines. • Participate in training to build skills in measurements, inspection, tooling, and machine operation. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience using basic hand tools in a work, school, or hobby setting. • Ability to use basic math skills to calculate tolerances and measurements with training. • Willingness to learn CNC machine operation, including mills and lathes. • Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers with training. • Capability to read and follow basic instructions and production documentation. • Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and verifying measurements. • Reliability to work scheduled shifts and mandatory overtime as required. • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with machinery and mechanical equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Interest in becoming a machinist and building a long-term career in machining. • Willingness to learn blueprint reading and basic machining concepts. • Openness to cross-training on various CNC machines such as Matsuura, HAAS VF2, HAAS VF6, Doosan Puma V400 Lathe, and NMV3000DCG. • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. • Positive attitude toward continuous learning and skill development. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a very clean contract manufacturing facility with modern CNC equipment and precision hand tools. The team consists of over 200 employees, with more than 40 in the CNC department, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The culture is family oriented and focused on teamwork. The dress code includes jeans and non-slip shoes for safety. Training takes place on first shift, Monday through Saturday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with mandatory overtime until 4:00 p.m. After training, the role moves to night shift from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with overtime until 3:00 a.m., providing consistent hours and exposure to a variety of machining operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA CLARITA, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
